Your AStA introduces itself

Hi! We are your AStA

The main task of the AStA is to represent the interests of all students at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. The AStA organizes the range of sports on offer at the university, negotiates the semester ticket on behalf of students, takes care of social issues and organizes events and campaigns. A special feature of the AStA at H-BRS is that, unlike other AStAs, it has no political mandate. It is more concerned with bringing the relatively young campuses of the university closer together and promoting identification with the university.

Work in AStA

Are you a student at H-BRS - regardless of department or semester? Would you like to get involved in your university and play an active role in shaping everyday university life? Are you also a team player, well organized and want to take a look behind the scenes at the university?
Then the AStA is the right place for you! Just drop by one of our offices (C001 in Sankt Augustin, G103 in Rheinbach), visit us at our next meeting or contact us at info@asta.h-brs.de.
We can often be found in the AStA office outside of opening hours, so just drop by! Please note that the opening hours are only valid during the lecture period.

Units

As the AStA is divided into several departments, you can contribute your personal strengths very well.

  • Socially and politically interested people will find their vocation in the Department of University Policy and Social Affairs.
  • Organizational talents should ensure the expansion and improvement of university sports in the sports department.
  • Anyone who is communicative and confident in speaking and writing or is familiar with media design will find their place in the PR department.
  • Number crunchers can take on many responsible tasks in the finance department.

What do I gain from becoming a member?

- Get to know fellow students from all departments and make friends

- Creatively implement your own ideas

- Use the AStA office for free periods/vacation periods

- A certificate for voluntary work, which looks good with employers or can also lead to an extension of your student grant

What can I expect? What would my job be?

– Planning and implementation of the AStA sports programme

– Event planning and implementation

- Publish social media posts

– Website maintenance

– Management of loans and applications for social hardship cases

How much time does that take?

On average three hours per week.
